Deenakrushna Das is an outstanding Oriya poet of the medieval Oriya literature. At the very early age he went to Srikshetra Puri. It is said that in order to concentrate on devotional creations he lived in Ekagharia village of Dhenkanal on the bank of river Brahmani. He was a devoted worshipper of Lord Jagannath and a sincere follower of the Orissa Vaishnab culture. It is said that he was inflicted with the horrible disease of leprosy and yet he used to visit the Puri temple of Lord Jagannath and sing his devotional songs in a most moving voice everyday. A major part of his life was spent in the holy center of Puri. His mastery over varied subjects like Sanskrit rhetoric’s, poetics, grammar, scriptures, astrology, classical medicine etc., made him a figure of eminence. He also wrote poems on warefare, marraiage manuals, social virtues and mythology. He also wrote romantic poems. He composed Kavyas, Chhandas, Chautisas, on scripture based on philosophical and devotional subject. Like the famous "Vaidehisa Vilash" of Upendra Bhanja starting with 'Ba' in the beginning of each line, Dinakrushna's 'Rasa Kallol' written in 'Ka' beginning is regarded as a wonderful creation of this versatile genius.
He earned a great reputation in writing Chautisa and other lyrical poems about Radha and Krushna. Rasakallola is not only his best, but also a unique piece of poetry in Oriya literature.

Artatrana Chautisa is his most popular and widely known devotional composition
