         In the gradual development of Oriya literature Radhanath Ray occupies an important position. His creations have enriched Oriya literature and it can be undoubtedly told that through his unique literacy creations Oriya poetry in the nineteenth century has got new life, asset.He started his education in Vernacular School. After completed he went to Balasore Zilla School.Due to his health problem he did not complete his F.A. course in Kalikata Presidency College. F.A. passed when he went stayed  on Puri .

          In 1864 he joined as a 3^rd teacher in Balasore Zilla School.He joined as 2^nd teacher in Puri School in 14.01.1869 where Madhsuda Rao was a student at that school. He graded as a teacher and posted in Bankuda Zilla School in 10.01.1872. He appointed as District inspector in Balasore Zilla School in 1872.He became  Joint Inspector in Odisha Education Department in 1877.

      

      He conferred as 'RAYBAHADUR' by British Government in 1896.
